To participate in any HMGS-South tournament, you must be registered for the convention.

DBA Tournaments  

All HMGS-South DBA tournament events are qualifiers to the North American Society of Ancient and Medieval War-Gamers Invitational Championship Tournament (NASAMW ICT or NICT.) This ‘Tournament of Champions’ is traditionally held at HMGS East’s annual Historicon game convention. You need not be a member of NASAMW to participate in these events but only members of NASAMW can qualify for their NICT tourney and win any prizes provided by that organization solely  ‘for members only.’  

The NASAMW DBA scoring system is used in all events. All events are typically four, one hour rounds so please arrive on time for the start of the event.

 All prizes are solicited by the individual Tournament Organisers (contact them for further information.)  Sponsorship inquiries are ALWAYS welcome.

What can you take?
? Warhammer 40k, 1850 Points, Bring a legal list for your Codex, No Imperial Armor or Apocalypse Rules, No Trial or Optional Rules or Opponents Permission Needed Rules, No White Dwarf Lists or Rules

? Warhammer Fantasy, 2500 Points, Bring a legal list from your Army Book, Special Characters from the Army Book that are 199 points or less are allowed, No Appendix Lists, No White Dwarf Lists or Rules or White Dwarf Special Characters, No Trail or Optional Rules or Opponents Permission Needed Rules, DOW only armies are permitted using the DOW and ROR rules from GW but DOW and ROR may not be used as allies in another army, Chaos Dwarves (rules from GW) may be used
You must use your most recently published Codex or Army Book, exception: if your Codex or Army Book was updated within 30 days of the event you may use EITHER version. Please have all rules references for your army with you.

Please submit lists in Army Builder Version 3 format.

Do not count on Army Builder and a printer being on-hand
? print your lists at home and bring several copies, for you, your opponents (4) and the organizers.

You are encouraged to work our any rules questions with your opponent. Please remember to always try to be fair to your self and your opponent. Remember to not only state your opinion clearly but to LISTEN to your opponent's opinion
? then work together to resolve the question. All current official GW FAQ's will be used to resolve any questions. In the event a question is not addressed by the FAQ's the judges decision is final, repeat final. We will try and have a copy of the Rulebook, and GW FAQs handy, but bring your own to be safe.
SPORTSMANSHIP is huge, play to have fun! Yes, you will earn points for crushing your opponent and also for how nicely you have modeled and painted your force. But
? do not underestimate SPORTSMANSHIP.

 • $5 entry fee in addition to the convention entry fee

• 30 player, 1500 point Late war qualifier for 2011

• The tournament will consist of Domination (I95 Mission), No Retreat (in Firestorm box or on Battlefront website), and Breakthrough.

• 1500 points, 2 lists.

• Lists will consist of:

• Core common to both lists of at least 1000 points containing, at a minimum, the HQ and all required combat platoons, plus weapons and support platoons as desired.

• List A plug in (500 points or enough to bring core to 1500):  Can include HQ upgrades, increases in size to platoons in the core, upgrades to platoons in the core, Air Support, or additional combat, weapons or support platoons.

• List B plug in (500 points or enough to bring core to 1500):  Same as list A.

• Lists are revealed after mission, table and Attacker/Defender are determined.

• Army lists including unit history must be submitted to  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  no later than 19 September 2010. I will not check army lists the morning of the tournament! Army lists must include the following information:

• Player's full name, email address, mailing address and phone number

• Army list being used (For example: Udarny Strelkovy Batalon)

• Book or website reference (For example: Stalin's Onslaught)

• Format of army lists will be provided

• Only the following army lists are allowed to take multiple companies:

• US Rangers (Festung Europa)

• US Rangers (Bloody Omaha)

• Commando Troop (Festung Europa)

• Churchill squadron Italy (PDF)

• Churchill squadron Normandy (PDF)

• 3 Rounds over 1 day, 2.5 hours per round

Any army list available on the Flames of War website listed under Official 1944-45.

• All armies must be fully painted. Any miniatures not fully painted will be pulled from the table prior to starting the tournament.

• Rounds will be determined by game play results and each player will be seeded with an opponent of his caliber

.• We will also attempt to match up Axis vs. Allies whenever possible but do not expect every game to work out historically.

• Battlefront software will not be used.  Overall prizes will be based on VP with a bonus of +2 per win.  Soft scores will be used as a tie breaker for ties in VP (Sportsmanship, then combined Painting/History).    Separate prizes will be given for Painting, Unit History and Sportsmanship. 

• Help with terrain is appreciated.  There will be a Best Table prize.

• Players will be able to bid for their first round opponent.Schedule (September 25th 2010)
